Hide-A-Hose Launches “Vacuum Central” Blog New blog involves consumers and dealers discussing installing, owning, and selling central vacs
(MONROE, WA) — Hide-A-Hose, the central vacuum system with the retractable hose has entered the blogosphere. The blog, called “Vacuum Central”, was officially launched March 14, 2009 and is accessible through the Hide-A-Hose Web site at: http://www.hideahose.biz/blog/. Vacuum Central offers a platform for central vacuum owners and retailers to find cleaning tips, how-tos, information on managing allergies, news, and, of course, it’s a medium to add comments. But why would a central vacuum company want to blog? “From Hide-A-Hose’s perspective,” says Rod Drivstuen, president of Hide-A-Hose, “there is much more to central vacuuming than picking up dirt. Vacuum Central is an excellent opportunity to provide easily accessible information that you might otherwise not find time to research. In addition, it’s a unique platform where consumers and dealers can share comments.” Indeed, current comments posted speak to the ease-of-use of Hide-A-Hose compared with conventional central vacuum systems, a difference that lies in great part in its retractable hose. Whether the blog’s traffic and comments come from a Hide-A-Hose salesperson, installer, owner, or prospective buyer, Drivstuen wants Vacuum Central to serve as a resource tool and product feedback platform. “It’s a two-way communication street,” says Drivstuen. “This means the reader can look beyond the typical marketing communication and dig deeper to find the extra help they need to get answers and make decisions. And for us, the feedback offers invaluable information that helps us grow in the right direction based on what we hear directly from consumers and our dealers.” Fresh weekly blog posts continue to build on existing posts that include Dealer Spotlight, Spring Cleaning 101, Dog’s Best Friend, Green your Clean, and You’re the Star, which features homeowners. And comments that are appearing are testement to the fact that more people than one might expect are interested in central vacuum systems. Hide-A-Hose can now also be followed on Twitter: http://twitter.com/hideahose.
